A play about conforming to – and rebelling against – the status quo. Exploring how our behaviour, thought and agency has been conditioned and tamed by the societies we live in.

An all-female chorus re-imagine the character of Kate (as in Shrew), each presenting different interpretations of the role and version of events. In this era of social media, fake news, sensationalism, theories and tropes #Tamed explores our need to be a part of something and our fear of being alone and investigates to what extent our behaviour, thought and agency has been tamed.

An interdisciplinary, multi-genre performance that experiments with different theatrical forms; merging choral movement, original text, video and a unique musical score, to transform the space and create a visceral experience.

The research and development was funded by Arts Council England and Norfolk County Council. #Tamed is produced by Flight of the Escales.
